Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm L. Lynette! My name is Lynette Lytle, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 29 years of experience based in the Middle Georgia area, seeing adult clients statewide remotely via telehealth. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Georgia College. I specialize in trauma and the issues that sometimes accompany having experienced trauma—such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties—using Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to assist clients in increasing resilience and achieving their goals. My approach My main therapies are Cognitive Behavior and Dialectical Behavior, though my approach is often eclectic based on the particular needs of the individual I am working with. The main goal is to work together to process the issue(s) that brought them to their therapeutic journey. My focus My focus and style have meshed well in working with adult survivors of trauma and the variety of areas it continues to impact in their lives emotionally, physiologically, socially, and psychologically. In working together, I provide tools to build skills and foster growth. My communication style I like to provide a calm, supportive environment where my clients know they will not be judged, nor am I easily shocked by anything. I have the ability to listen but also to ask for clarification if necessary. I like to use humor, when appropriate, at times to lighten the mood. My journey to mental healthcare As a child, I wanted to grow up and be either a lawyer or a psychiatrist. While working in a law office, I realized that wasn’t my area and returned to graduate school for my Master’s in Clinical Psychology. I also decided I’d rather be a “boots on the ground” worker than go to med school to write prescriptions. I’ve never looked back. It’s been said, “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life,” and that is absolutely true.
