Getting to know Labrini Gilpin

About Labrini Gilpin, MA, LPCC, CCM: Hi! My name is Labrini and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who resides and practices in the state of California (LPCC4154). In regards to my background and education, I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology. I attended Roger Williams University in Rhode Island and later moved to California in 2017, where I became licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Certified Case Manager (CCM). Mental health and physical wellness has always been a passion of mine and I strive to lead by example. On a more personal note, in 2020 my husband and I adopted two rescues who are now permanent members of the family: Popeye and Olive Oil. I am a pet lover and consider them to be trials that then led to my two beautiful boys. When I am not chasing after my puppies or little humans, in my free time I like to engage in activities that restore my mind, body, and soul whether that be through exercise, streaming shows, meditation, writing, listening to music, reading, or spending time with family and friends. Taking long walks with my kids has become a tradition. Nature is my happy place!

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session together, my goal is for us to get to know each other to determine if we are an appropriate therapeutic fit. My goals are for you to feel comfortable enough to bring your concerns to therapy and speak about them freely: building rapport and fostering trust. I tend to ask questions regarding your communication and learning styles to tailor sessions to you specifically. If you've had past experiences in therapy, please share what worked and did not work for you. I would also like to learn about your goals so that we can develop a treatment plan together that encompasses your priorities. I welcome feedback so that we can adjust approaches in therapy to meet your needs. I aim to create a safe therapeutic environment that helps you accomplish your goals.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Labrini is such a sweet person . She’s quick to understand and very caring. She is fantastic at coming up with solutions to healthy coping mechanisms and to reframing one’s mind set to be more positive. My depression and anxiety improved from our session over the course of just a few weeks . Labrini was able to give me the tools for success. I highly recommend her for multiple types of people.. whether they are someone who suffers with chronic pain, post partum depression, or just general anxiety , she is a great therapist to have .
