My name is Lakisha Woodson, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Associate (LCSW-A) local to the greater Triad area. I earned a Bachelor's degree from Bennett College and a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). I have worked in human services since 2002, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health diagnoses. Additionally, I have experience in the child welfare sector, supporting children and families. As a clinician, I assist clients in addressing depression, adverse childhood experiences, low self-esteem, anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress, and life transitions. My hope is to help others realize their full potential and move forward in a positive direction. I believe it is my responsibility as a clinician to empower those who seek my services by providing them with the tools necessary to succeed while improving their mental health symptoms. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and sharing quality moments with my dog. As a social worker, I have a passion for social justice and advocacy for marginalized individuals, groups, and communities. My goal as a clinician is to create a welcoming environment and provide compassionate care.
