Getting to know Lariza Fenner-Lux
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) with a Master's in Art Therapy from Florida State University. I have worked with people across the lifespan, helping children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with mental illness, community violence, substance use disorders, and early relational trauma. I believe that people know themselves and their experiences very well, so I seek to create a place where clients can be empowered to find the change they want in their lives. When working with infants, children, and their families, I assess the development of the child, the attachment relationship between caregiver and child, and possible disruptions in these important relationships.
I have helped adolescents with school-related anxiety, learning accommodations, medical trauma, and gender exploration. I have supported young adults in their transition to adulthood and addressed issues related to their family structures that often follow into later developmental phases. I have also assisted older adults with management strategies for anxiety and resolving lifelong struggles with traumatic stress.
As an art therapist, I utilize creative techniques when words may fail in the therapeutic setting. Often, the creative process helps people focus on the present moment and the many aspects of self-exploration in therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am very direct, and honest, and do not sugarcoat things. At times I assign homework and/or skills to work on between sessions to help manage the symptoms you are struggling with and do not expect you to be perfect, I just expect you to try practicing/implementing the things I give you to work on.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
