Getting to know Larry W. Smith

I bring over 25 years of experience in mental health, ranging from addiction to trauma. I believe in a strength-based approach to providing clients support because everyone has skills, talents, and abilities to tap into to assist them in overcoming life's challenges. I am a firm believer in a non-judgmental approach to therapy so you, the client, feel safe, accepted, and empowered. I use a broad array of therapy techniques such as trauma-informed care, strength-based, systems, solution-focused or brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, grief therapy, and much more. I am a huge proponent of empowerment and people taking control of their lives with healthy and safe boundaries. I especially enjoy working with men who have engaged in domestic violence with their partners, helping them take responsibility for their actions and the harm they have caused, and to help end the cycle of violence. I hold a Master's in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino, which has further deepened my commitment to compassionate, effective care. ?Courage doesn't happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.? - Shannon L. Alder

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a safe place to share their hearts and concerns in the areas of their lives, they want to address. I bring a non-judgmental and empowering therapeutic approach to all my clients. I foster a comfortable and safe space so clients can ask any questions they want so they feel they have a say in their growth and healing.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Larry is helping me to identify experiences that fulfill me and make me happy.
He's a grounding spirit. Keeping my feet on the ground as I navigate.
Negative situations need addressing then and there. No more sugar coating.
Wonderful therapist and really cares for his clients well-being.
I didn't want to go into therapy, but it is the best thing I have ever done. Larry gives me actionable advice and has helped me tremendously.
He is a very good listener and asks great penetrating questions that make me think during and after the session. I feel like Larry is gifted at this as is doing what he does very well.
I find Larry a good listener (this was not one of the choices above)…. he was able to relate to what I tried to express, even times I was wordy or nervous, give me feedback specific to what I was attempting to explain on a specific circumstance. He was patient and pleasant and encouraged me to think further on a thought for times it called for.
Larry is a good listener and has been quick to help me get to the root of my issues. I've been in therapy for years for trauma-related problems, and it has been refreshing to finally discover a therapist who doesn't only look at my challenges from a surface level. I would recommend Larry to anyone ready to do a deep dive and who wants to heal.
Larry is a great listener.
Larry is a good listener, very analytical and astute at putting his finger on the problem, and articulate in explaining the solution.
Larry is the best therapist I've ever had. Reasonable pricing so I can have a session every week. He's really helped me get my life in orndee
