Getting to know LaShon Sawyer

Welcome! I have been a clinician for nearly 29 years. Throughout the years, I have worked with clients of varying ages across an array of service areas. For example, I have worked with clients to discuss topics such as mental health management, trauma, racial trauma, coping strategies, anxiety, depression, decision-making/problem-solving, grief and loss, family changes/conflicts, stress, and coping with long-term or new medical conditions. We can work together to identify realistic strategies for your progress and long-term success. My number one priority is to be a great listener and provide support along the way. It is important to me that you walk away from our time together feeling heard and respected. I promote a therapeutic environment that stands on the value that “all are welcomed here.” Our differences should be treated with compassion and dignity. I also have extensive experience working with individuals with previous involvement in the criminal justice system. This work has provided me with the opportunity to also work with family members, loved ones, and others connected to the person who may have served time. I am comfortable working with individuals seeking to enter the workforce for the first time, re-entering the workforce, or interested in changing career paths. I would work with you to identify the talents you are interested in highlighting in an upcoming job search as well as addressing barriers that may have impacted employment situations in the past.
