I am La'Toya Thomas, a native of Vicksburg, MS, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Mississippi and Texas. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Jackson State University in 2003 and went on to obtain my Master's in Social Work from Syracuse University in 2004. With 18 years of experience as a clinician, I have worked across various fields of social work, including mental health, gerontology/aging, adolescents/teens, substance abuse, hospice, and home health settings. I am skilled in multiple treatment modalities, but I especially enjoy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy. Social work is more than a job to me-it is a calling. I am deeply passionate about the work I do and live by the motto: ?If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.?
