I believe that each of us, at one time or another, struggles with self-worth and coping with crises, interpersonal conflicts, or problematic behaviors. Depression, anxiety, and difficulty with relationships can significantly impair one's ability to be their best and to feel emotionally healthy and capable. When those times happen, it can help to have a caring therapist who understands, helps identify solutions, and doesn't judge.
My style focuses on the here and now, with practical strategies for making meaningful changes that fit you and your situation. I rarely dwell on the past, although at times it may lend helpful insight or identify patterns or beliefs affecting you today. My approach emphasizes strengths and solutions?without psychobabble.
I am licensed in California, with over 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life changes, parenting challenges, family conflicts, relationship problems, or substance use issues. I also have expertise working with people experiencing difficulties related to recent or past traumatic experiences.
I hold a Master's in Social Work from Loma Linda University and a Bachelor's degree from La Sierra University. My advanced training includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
What should a new client know about working with you?
I tend to focus on practical solutions and identifying your personal strengths. We will identify and mobilize skills you have used to get through other challenges and how to apply them today. If your coping skills are overwhelmed right now, we'll work to build the specific skills you need to cope with your current situation. Each week you will have a specific direction in handling the challenges and emotions you are facing. I may also recommend books, videos, or apps to support our work.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
