Hello! I'm Lauren Shawver. I have experience in a variety of settings and specializations with populations including children and adolescents, youth and teens who are in the foster care system or who are adopted, those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and those experiencing depression. I have been an elementary teacher. I am a native Texan and received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. Spending time with family and friends is important to me. I enjoy reading and have recently learned how to crochet.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am warm, caring, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I am a good listener. I partner with clients to examine how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. My therapeutic approach combines play and art-based interventions with behavior modification and emotional regulation techniques.
