Getting to know Lauren Snead

Do you find yourself feeling disconnected from others or overthinking decisions? Are you struggling to find motivation and feeling stagnant in the direction your life is taking? Do you feel like you keep difficult emotions buried and generally overwhelmed by life? In my therapeutic work, I have over six years of experience supporting college-aged students as they navigate the emerging adulthood phase that college presents. I also have several years of experience working with teenage girls facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and disordered eating patterns or body image issues. My primary focus and specialties include the treatment of depression, anxiety, social anxiety, phase-of-life issues, women's issues, ADHD, trauma, and concerns related to college-aged students. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from James Madison University and my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2019. My experience spans private practice, college counseling centers, nonprofit community-based organizations, and in-home family therapy settings.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
