Lea Roussos, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I work collaboratively with my clients to support their process in working through difficult issues. My approach is trauma-informed since most people carry their past experiences into the present. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based method for processing trauma. My most common theoretical approaches include EMDR, mindfulness-based processes, as well as cognitive and dialectical-based practices. I work with all types of clients and enjoy helping people who wish to change the things that are not working in their lives. I treat trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and much more. I believe I am easy to work with, offering a very open and comfortable approach. People generally feel comfortable with my open and caring style. I became a therapist in my 40s after having four children and learning so much about child development and how our past experiences show up in the present. I am curious, open, and enjoy helping people make their lives better. I earned my Master’s in Psychology from Antioch University, which has deeply informed my work. I generally ask clients about their personal goals and help them work collaboratively toward achieving those goals. During the first session, clients can expect an open and curious inquiry. I help them learn about therapy (if this is their first time) and try to make the process as comfortable as possible.
