Leah Jackson, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Leah! I have been licensed in the state of VA since 2020. I have been in the mental health field since 2005 and have worked with all populations. I consider myself client-centered and have focused on depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, ID/DD, bipolar disorder, and psychosis, working with populations ranging from children through adults. LPC 0701008887. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Radford University. My approach I am client-centered, aiming to meet you where you are and assist you in growing within the tools that have built your foundation, while also providing new tools to build a stronger foundation. I am knowledgeable in, but not limited to, CBT, DBT, EMDR, acu-detox, recovery stages/methods, and crisis intervention. My focus I am most comfortable working with adolescents and young adults and am open to working with any dually diagnosed individual. In the past, I have found my niche in trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, ID/DD, and substance abuse. My communication style I utilize a straightforward but compassionate approach with my clients, assisting them to be solution-oriented in their own journey with support and guidance through counseling techniques. I meet every situation with a non-judgmental, open-minded attitude, knowing that no two people will show the same symptoms or concerns they may be struggling with at any given time. My journey to mental healthcare I had a psychology professor my first year of college whom I absolutely loved. He told me I had a skill for this work, and through many discussions, research, and learning more about the field, I dove in headfirst—starting out with adolescents and then moving to all populations as time went on. The hope instilled in each client is what has driven me since 2005 to continue this work. No matter the situation—steps backward, forward, or sideways—the hope and help I can provide is my driving motivation.
