Getting to know Lianna Mueller
My name is Lianna Mueller, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Counseling from The University of Akron. You are a unique human being, and so are your needs in therapy. I take a collaborative approach as we determine what works best for you! I firmly believe that healing and wholeness are available for every person. I mainly work with people experiencing life transitions and decisions, grief, relationship challenges, depression, and anxiety.
My approach
I may use EMDR and its components, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. When possible and desired by the client, I also like to incorporate creative and spiritual approaches.
My focus
I primarily treat preteens 11 and up, teens, and young adults, though I’m happy to work with any age! I also welcome clients who hold their spiritual and faith values closely.
My communication style
I am a very genuine person. I like to ask each client exactly what they find helpful and what they don’t, keeping open communication throughout. Sometimes we might even share moments of laughter in session! Many people say I have a calming presence.
My journey to mental healthcare
I initially became a therapist to serve populations that were marginalized and underserved. I love how therapy can take on a holistic approach, which I believe is very important. I’m motivated by seeing my clients grow and have revelations that change their lives for the better!
My goals for you
I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Some may come in not yet able to articulate their goals, but we’ll figure it out together. Often, new goals arise throughout treatment.

In our first session, you will learn more about the therapy process and the requirements placed on me as a therapist. We will also discuss what brings you to therapy and begin setting your treatment goals.
