Getting to know Ligia Celeste Cruz

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Florida with a Master's in Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. My specialties include supporting clients around codependency, self-worth, boundaries, overcoming harmful patterns, and ultimately helping them relate to themselves, their relationships, and the world around them in an aligned way. My approach and lens are somatic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and positive regard. Since my niche is self-worth, codependency, and boundaries, I work with all adults and couples. I co-create sessions with my clients, meaning I create a shared experience that involves a lot of listening on my part, then responding relationally with questions, observations, and a bit of education. Each session is a conversation centered on discovering what my client's needs are at that time. I know therapy works because I've witnessed it within myself and my clients. This is very inspiring, and because I continue to do my own work, I keep building the capacity for how I show up for my clients and the compassion it requires to be a vulnerable human. I am pro goal-setting as well as being present with what is happening in the moment. It's important to me to know my clients' goals so I can hold their needs and desires while supporting their growth in the direction of those goals. The first sessions with me focus on understanding what brought you to therapy at this time, exploring a bit of your history, and clarifying your goals for therapy.
