Lilia Ortiz, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello there, I'm Lilia! My name is Lilia Ortiz, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California, working with clients via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from California Lutheran University. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, grief, PTSD, and women’s issues. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal skills. Trauma-focused CBT, DBT skills (mindfulness), and traditional therapy methods help my clients find the inner strength to live a better quality of life. I have worked with adult clients facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, grief, loss, relationship issues, women’s issues, postpartum depression, self-esteem, parenting challenges, adjustment issues, anger management, and career counseling. My counseling style is warm, empathic, and direct/transparent. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I work collaboratively with clients to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I chose to become a therapist because I enjoy helping people. I consider it a privilege to support my clients in regaining a sense of empowerment by healing the past and allowing for an abundant and fulfilling future. When setting goals, I work collaboratively with clients to define what they want to achieve in therapy. This process begins by creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment that encourages growth and change. During our first session, I will ask you a series of questions to understand why you have decided to seek therapy. I will also inquire about how you have been managing your day-to-day life and any significant losses or stressors you may have experienced.
