Lillian Channing, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Lillian! As a somatic therapist with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Lutheran University, I work with adults to uncover and heal the deeper roots of relationship attachment patterns that may no longer serve them. My approach is holistic and body-centered, helping clients cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and healthier relationships—with both themselves and others. My work is grounded in somatic therapy, attachment theory, and trauma-informed practices. I believe healing occurs not just through insight but also by attuning to the body’s wisdom. I integrate modalities such as Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help clients process emotions, release stored trauma, and develop more secure, fulfilling connections. By exploring how past experiences shape current behaviors and beliefs, I support clients in building a more compassionate and attuned relationship with themselves, which transforms how they engage with others. I primarily work with adults and couples navigating challenges related to attachment, intimacy, and relational trauma. My focus includes helping individuals and partners explore and shift patterns that contribute to anxiety, disconnection, and difficulty in relationships. I also specialize in working with first responders and those impacted by PTSD, complex PTSD, sexual assault, and domestic violence. My goal is to support clients in healing their relationship with themselves first—cultivating self-trust, emotional resilience, and inner security—so they can show up more fully and authentically in relationships. My communication style is warm, direct, and compassionate. I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their emotions, patterns, and experiences at their own pace. My approach is deeply attuned and relational—I listen with curiosity, reflect with honesty, and gently challenge when needed.
