“I used to get caught in a cycle of negative thinking and convince myself that nothing I did was ever good enough. Now I've been learning to recognize those thought patterns and challenge them instead of automatically believing them. ”

Getting to know Lily Moriarty

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. My priority is creating a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and able to show up as yourself. I bring authenticity and warmth into the therapy room and often incorporate humor when it feels natural, helping to build connection and make difficult conversations feel a little more approachable. I have experience working with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals and a particular interest in supporting young adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, and the challenges that can come with life transitions. I understand that these experiences do not exist in isolation, and I work to understand you within the context of your relationships, experiences, identities, and environment. My approach integrates CBT and DBT techniques with a psychodynamic perspective. This allows us to work on two levels: developing practical tools to manage what is happening in your life right now while also becoming curious about the experiences and patterns that may influence how you think, feel, relate to others, and understand yourself. Therapy with me is collaborative and individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a therapeutic relationship where you feel supported while also having space to grow and challenge yourself. Together, we can build greater self-understanding, strengthen coping skills, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and work toward changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals and have a particular interest in supporting young adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, and life transitions. I aim to provide an affirming space where all parts of who you are can be understood within the larger context of your experiences, relationships, and environment. I believe the relationship you have with your therapist is an important part of what makes therapy meaningful. I bring warmth, authenticity, and humor into my work and want you to feel comfortable showing up as yourself. You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy—we can begin with where you are and work together to understand what you need.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach integrates CBT and DBT techniques with a psychodynamic perspective. We'll develop practical skills and strategies for managing current challenges while also exploring the experiences and patterns that may shape how you think, feel, relate to others, and understand yourself. I tailor the process to each person, with the goal of helping you develop greater self-understanding and create meaningful, lasting change.

Therapy has helped me realize how much energy I was losing by overthinking situations and questioning my feelings. This was a really good starting point for me. Thank you Ms Moriarty ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
