Getting to know Linda Wilbourn

Hi there! My name is Linda Wilbourn, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in the Texas Hill Country, working with clients across Texas via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Seminary of the Southwest and a Master’s in Theological Studies from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in anxiety, stress, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness, I help clients learn strategies and gain tools to propel themselves toward healing and reach the life they wish to live. My approach I meet clients where they are and help them build their own unique path to healing, tailored to their individual style. I most frequently use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy combined with Mindfulness-Based Practices, which support clients in committing to a valued direction while gaining strategies to accept the difficult and uncomfortable feelings that arise on the way to their goals. I view therapy as a collaboration between client and therapist along the client’s path toward healing. My focus Experience has shown me that my style and approach fit well with teens and adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, or life transitions. These challenges may stem from present pressures but often link to past experiences. I work to help clients develop skills to manage and accept difficult memories and emotions that interfere with moving toward their goals. My communication style My therapy space is a “Judgment Free Zone.” People often tell me they appreciate my calm and accepting communication style, which helps them feel safe expressing anything they want or need to. I strive to listen intently and explore areas further by asking questions to better understand each client’s unique needs.
