Getting to know Lindsay DeHaan

Welcome! I'm Lindsay (but I go by Liv!), a Licensed Social Worker. Healing doesn’t mean you have to do it on your own. I help adults find relief from anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic pain, emotional exhaustion, and the weight of past experiences. In our work together, we create space to slow down, process what’s been weighing on you, and reconnect with your sense of balance and confidence. I'm trained in EMDR and have found this to be an incredibly healing modality for my clients. I also help clients who want to understand and shift long-standing family patterns. When you start to see how stress and emotional habits have been passed down through generations, therapy can help you break those cycles and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I believe in the mind and body’s ability to heal itself. We work together so you can feel calm, clear, and more like yourself again. My approach is warm, steady, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when you feel understood, supported and know you are the one in control. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to finally take care of yourself the way you care for others, I’d be honored to support you. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, cycling, and spending time with my family. Staying active and connected helps me stay present and grounded, just as I help my clients find ways to do the same.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will meet for an assessment and work collaboratively to build a treatment plan that meets your unique needs. I recommend meeting weekly in order to build momentum in your healing process, but we can adjust this as needed. I see clients in person (Highland Park, IL) as well as virtually in IL. I look forward to working with you!
