Lindsay Parkinson, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Lindsay Kay Parkinson. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Art Therapist, and Artist. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University, and a Bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University. My work is dedicated to creating trusting relationships and a space where you can be yourself, knowing you can show up without fear of judgment. I assist you in a process of self-discovery and growth that helps you feel better, become more focused on your path, and cultivate increased self-compassion and acceptance. My approach I combine traditional talk therapy with art therapy, using Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Problem-Solution Focused, and Family Systems theories. Ask me about my 12-week Mindful Self Compassion series, which blends Art Directives with aspects of your life needing more care and compassion! My focus I enjoy working with adolescents and transitional-aged youth (18–25), as well as individual adults. Young adulthood is difficult to navigate, especially these days, and those early experiences deserve extra care. Depression and anxiety are common reasons people seek therapy. Symptoms may include overwhelming sadness or nervousness, apathy, changes in sleep or diet, feeling “out of sync,” or questioning life transitions, relationships, or career paths. Personal losses, including the loss of a loved one or pet, can trigger depressive episodes. I work with mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma, focusing on awareness and insight to help create a new story of strength and resilience, gaining perspective on symptoms, root causes, and managing diagnosis. My communication style I create a light atmosphere, especially at first, to foster a comfortable and safe emotional space where we can talk about your most vulnerable feelings. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.
