Lindsay Ruston, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, my name is Lindsay Ruston, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University. I am passionate about supporting my clients in their journeys of self-discovery and providing a means of healing and positive growth. I adopt a client-centered approach, emphasizing the entire person and empowering clients to take charge of their mental health while I serve as a guide to help them reach their greatest potential. My approach I use a Person-Centered Approach when working with individuals, creating a welcoming, understanding, and nonjudgmental atmosphere that fosters transformation and healing. In addition, conventional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions help clients understand how their thoughts influence their behaviors. At a couple’s level, a comparable strategy incorporates a Person-Centered Approach and the Gottman Method, which focuses on techniques meant to help couples resolve conflict and successfully break down barriers to intimacy. My focus I focus on helping adults who are struggling with life challenges and seeking to gain more self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, greater success in establishing interpersonal relationships, and more trust in their own decisions. I assist those dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or other difficult circumstances such as interpersonal relationships and family stressors. I also work with couples who may be struggling with chronic conflict or find themselves in a stagnant relationship with emotional distance, helping them increase closeness and build a life of shared meaning together. My communication style I create a therapeutic environment that provides a comfortable, nonjudgmental space by relying on unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding, and genuineness. As a therapist, I do not carry an air of authority in a client’s life but instead offer a true and accessible self.
