Getting to know Lindsey Fischenich

My goal is to work collaboratively with clients and individualize treatment to reduce negative symptoms and increase positive emotional well-being and life functioning. Utilizing evidence-based practices, I will work with you to help you learn to manage difficult emotions and develop tools that work for you. I have experience working with diverse populations, including children and families, adolescents, court-ordered services for victims of domestic abuse as well as perpetrators, and people experiencing difficult life transitions such as divorce or death. In the public high school setting as a trauma and crisis therapist, I focused on helping students experiencing suicidal ideation, eating disorders, self-harm, domestic violence, sexual assault, peer conflict, school and academic difficulties, and family conflict. In the community mental health setting, I focused on victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and children in foster care due to court orders. I earned my MEd in School and Clinical Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. I have been trained in Complex Trauma, received specialized training from Cornell in Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, DBT, and earned my Grief Recovery Specialist certification through The Grief Recovery Method Institute. Issues I work with range from depression, anxiety, relationship problems, self-esteem, life transitions, suicidal ideation, family conflict, and self-harm. I thrive in helping others learn to cope with the issues that cause them distress, anxiety, and stress. I take great pride in seeing clients achieve goals they previously thought were out of reach and would be honored to help you as well. I cannot imagine anything more rewarding than making such a positive impact through the work that I get to do! Please note that I am in Central Standard Time, so if you are booking in California, my times are 2 hours ahead of yours.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Prior to our first session, you will complete an intake form, and two standard rating scales that address common concerns that bring many people to therapy. In the first session, we will review the forms, scales, and complete a full biopsychosocial assessment to help determine areas of concern, background, physical symptoms, and how the problem is affecting your life. From there, we will create a specialized treatment plan and therapeutic goals, as well as address any concerns you may have. Seeking therapy is a big step for anyone to take and one that I do not take your decision lightly. I am to treat you with dignity, respect, and empathy as you seek the help you need. I am here to guide you through the process and create a space where you feel seen and safe.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
