Getting to know Lindsey Moscak
While there are many things in life that have the potential to bring us joy, we can often find ourselves stuck in the challenges and struggles of daily life, which can keep us from fully enjoying our lives. If you find yourself reading this, I want to congratulate you on taking steps toward seeking support and finding ways to better navigate life’s complexities. Even admitting we need help from others is an invaluable step toward change.
I personally view therapy as a collaborative relationship in which we work together to find meaningful solutions that align with your values and personal goals. I primarily utilize DBT and CBT approaches in my practice, which can include mindfulness training, emotional self-validation, improving distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness training, and working toward adopting a more flexible perspective of ourselves and the world around us.
I have experience working with a wide array of clients, including adolescents, families, couples, and adults with a variety of presenting struggles. I have worked with clients in acute inpatient care, residential inpatient care, and outpatient settings. My specialties include substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem, trauma, relationship conflicts, communication and conflict resolution skills, boundary setting, and LGBTQ issues.
I hold a Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and effective care.
