Getting to know Lindsey Vennard

My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether you are navigating a big life transition or just needing a space to breathe and be heard-You are not alone. LCSW. What should a new client know about working with you?

I use clear, compassionate, open (sometimes direct) communication to build a supportive, non-judgmental environment to help you grow and feel empowered. I utilize active listening to make you feel seen and heard. It gives us the opportunity to reflect on your experiences with an empathic partner who is here to try and help. I try to be very open and honest. What you see is what you get. My journey started when my children were in Elementary school. I volunteered, and noticed how some of the kids just lit up when they felt seen and heard. This got me looking towards a degree in guidance counseling, and through some conversations, I ended up in a Master's program for Social Work. I interned in the school system, still thinking this is where I was meant to be, and at a private practice. After the semester in the private practice, I felt I was making an impact, and even on the hard days, I wanted to go back.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

To me, therapy is a partnership where we work together to set goals, no matter what those goals are. I also understand that at times those goals may move and shift, so we adjust accordingly. I am here to support and provide insight to help you reach those goals. Our first session together will be a conversation just like every session. The only difference is that in the first session, we will be answering some intake questions. This gives us the opportunity to get to know one other, and start building our working relationship together. I like to learn why you are here, and what we can do together to get those goals accomplished.
