Getting to know Lionel Smith
Therapy is an interactive relationship between the client and therapist focused on identifying and clarifying goals for treatment. You want to be seen, heard, and validated. You want to work through the things you have been holding on to that have been holding you back. I want your time with me to be a space where you are free to be yourself. I want to know you as a person, not just your problems. My therapeutic goal is to move away from a one-size-fits-all mentality and instead draw from various methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation. A holistic, strength-based, person-centered approach guides my therapeutic vision. “You are the expert on you.” My job is to assist in isolating issues that may be clouding your ability to see the obstacles to becoming the person of your dreams. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively on your journey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Client can expect to appreciate a connectiveness and direction that comes through relationship and joint goals. Therapy must be an opportunity for the client to feel safe and comfortable sharing their hurts, habits and holdups that we all navigate through daily.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
