Lisa Couch, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Lisa! When life feels overwhelming, you don’t have to navigate it all on your own. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and find a way forward. My focus I work with those who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, burnout, or the pressure to hold everything together. Together, we can work toward greater clarity, balance, and a renewed sense of peace. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When we’re caught in patterns of worry, self-criticism, or negative thinking, it can feel difficult to see a way forward. My communication style I’m straightforward, honest, and easy to talk to. Therapy doesn’t have to feel formal or uncomfortable. You can come as you are, talk openly, and know that you’ll be met with respect and without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare Becoming a therapist was a natural extension of my desire to understand people, listen to their stories, and help them navigate difficult seasons of life. Over time, I became especially interested in how our thoughts, experiences, and behaviors shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. My goals for you I’ll listen, ask direct questions, and help you look at what’s really going on. When something isn’t working, we’ll talk about it. When you’re stuck, we’ll figure out practical ways to move forward. My goal is to help you feel understood while giving you tools you can actually use in your everyday life. Our first session Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. We’ll explore what’s been going on, what you’re hoping to change, and what you’d like to get out of therapy.
