Lisa Foster, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
Hi there, I'm Lisa! I am glad you found me! I offer professional counseling in a warm, accepting, and safe environment. My name is Lisa G. Foster, and I have been a clinical social worker for many years. I earned my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and hold a Bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College. I am licensed at the highest level in Massachusetts (LICSW). My approach My therapeutic approaches include Psychodynamic Insight-Oriented therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Solution-Focused Brief therapy, and Compassionate Listening. Healing and growth are possible. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we can control how we react. We can work together to find solutions. My focus I have expertise in addressing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, coping with chronic illness, and working with families of individuals with significant disabilities. I enjoy working with individuals 18 and older and feel comfortable with young adults through older adults. My communication style I am an active therapist, helping you set goals and achieve them. I approach people genuinely and have an informal, conversational style. My personal and professional experiences have taught me that compassion and empathy are some of the most powerful gifts we can give one another. I see my role as a guide, helping you find your way to strength and wholeness. My journey to mental healthcare From an early age, I was a mediator, a “helper.” My interests are wide-ranging, and clinical social work seemed the best fit. Since my training, my life has presented many health-related challenges, including raising a son with significant disabilities. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.
