Lisa King Smith, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Lisa! My goal is to provide compassionate, holistic mental health and wellness care to help you achieve greater well-being, self-awareness, and personal growth. My practice is dedicated to treating the whole person - mind, body, and spirit - through an integrative approach that blends evidence-based psychotherapy with complementary healing modalities. My focus Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, but I’m particularly drawn to adults, young adults, and teens who are navigating anxiety, trauma and complex trauma (C-PTSD), substance use, life transitions, health and wellness concerns, and spiritual or existential questions. I also have a strong interest in integrative mental health. My approach I approach psychotherapy as a collaborative, integrative process that honors the whole person; mind, body, and spirit, while staying firmly grounded in evidence-based care. My aim is not to “fix” people, but to help them reconnect with their own capacity for healing, clarity, and choice in the midst of real-life complexity. My communication style In session, I tend to work in a way that is collaborative, structured enough to feel purposeful, and flexible enough to respond to what is actually happening for you that day. We might identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns using CBT, explore meaning and identity from an existential lens, or slow down to notice how emotions are showing up My journey to mental healthcare Becoming a psychotherapist is more or less a third career for me. I was a stay at home mom for 15 years before going back to grad school. During that time I also went through a divorce, had 3 teenage daughters and a work from home job as an event planner and membership association manager. I became a therapist in my mid-40's as a single mom.
