Getting to know Lisa Kish-Pittman

Clients bring their strengths and solutions to therapy. It's an honor to partner with those who are open to this hard work. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches, delivered in a gentle, warm, yet focused manner.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Research shows that the most important indicator of the effectiveness of therapy is the quality of the therapist-client relationship. This is my favorite thing about counseling. I believe this relationship is what matters most when creating an effective strategy for change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer a 15-minute consult when requested, but believe this is often an inadequate amount of time to assess fit. I prefer to hold a full session or two with potential clients, to offer us a better chance to determine fit for the long run. Therapy is a fluid process, and you should never feel stuck working with a therapist who is not an excellent fit.
