Getting to know Lisa Lee-Briggs

I am licensed in California with 12 years of professional work experience. I hold a Master's in Psychology from Chapman University. I have experience helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, intimacy-related concerns, and parenting challenges. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage, and I am here to support you in that process. My approach I believe that everyone has their own answers, but there are times when we need assistance discovering them. I take a straightforward approach to that exploration and help people move forward in life. I specialize in couples and family communication, where assigning blame is replaced with clearer understanding and more effective ways to convey meaning. All relationships can be repaired if all members are willing to work toward that goal. I use a wide range of techniques-from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Gestalt methods-as well as a mix of additional therapies specifically suited to the client and situation. I will find the techniques that fit you! My focus With a background in education, I am comfortable working with individuals aged 13 and up. I have primarily treated anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma of all types. I am also skilled at working with couples and family dysfunction. My communication style I tend to be a relaxed therapist who can also be very straightforward. People often say they feel comfortable with me from the very first session. They appreciate that I engage in dialogue with them and that they don't feel judged. My journey to mental healthcare My journey began 32 years ago when I became a high school teacher. Students would come into my room and ask to talk. I quickly learned the power of just listening and helping them reframe things a bit.
