Hi! I am Lisa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Jackson State University. I believe in providing a safe space to be vulnerable so that true healing can begin. My approach I use a strengths-based, cognitive behavioral approach. I meet you where you are with an open mind and without judgment. It is my goal to help you find tools to address the challenges that bring you to therapy. My focus I typically work with individuals experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, mood instability, and anger control issues. I am comfortable treating any one of these concerns, among others. My communication style My communication style is best described as a combination of assertive and motivational. My journey to mental healthcare Seeing a close family member struggle with mental health issues and the desire to understand and assist on a deeper level is what attracted me to psychotherapy. Advocating for the significance of mental health awareness and effective treatment is what continues to drive me to this day. My goals for you Goal setting begins at introduction and is self-determined with anyone that I work with. My first session with you Individuals can expect me to do more listening than speaking in the first session.
