Lisa Priel, LCSW

Psychotherapist
OH
I help adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or stretched thin find a steadier place to land. I offer a relaxed, supportive space where you can slow down, talk honestly about what’s been weighing on you, and start building tools that help you feel more grounded in your daily life. My work blends insight with practical action. We’ll explore the patterns shaping your experience, but we’ll also focus on what helps you feel more regulated and resilient right now. I integrate solution-focused strategies and gentle somatic practices so you can experience relief in the present while still doing the deeper work that leads to lasting change. Whether you’re navigating depression, grief, burnout, relationship stress, or a season of life that simply feels heavier than usual, I’ll meet you exactly where you are with a steady, nonjudgmental presence. Together, we’ll move toward a life that feels lighter, clearer, and more aligned with who you are becoming.

Getting to know Lisa Priel

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, transparent, and engaged. I’m not a silent observer I’m right there with you, helping you make sense of what’s coming up and offering tools when they’re useful. If I notice a pattern, I’ll name it. If something isn’t clear, I’ll ask. And if I don’t know something, I’ll say so and we’ll explore it together. Clients often tell me they appreciate the “small wins” we build along the way. Between sessions, I may offer grounding practices, breathing exercises, or simple action steps so you feel supported throughout the week. I draw from CBT, psychodynamic exploration, and solution-focused work to help you understand your patterns, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward the life you want. Above all, I aim to create a space that feels steady, safe, and genuinely supportive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, my priority is to lower the pressure and help you settle in. We’ll talk about what’s been feeling heaviest lately and what you’re hoping will feel different. I’ll ask thoughtful, clarifying questions so we can get a clear picture of what’s going on beneath the surface. Ongoing sessions are conversational and grounded in what’s most present for you. We usually start with a quick check-in about your week, then move into the deeper work like navigating a relationship challenge, processing grief, or untangling stress at work. We’ll look at your past when it’s helpful, but always with an eye toward the future and the specific skills or shifts that will support you right now. My intention is for you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and a little lighter. You’ll walk away with a clearer sense of our progress and a tangible tool or perspective to help you stay connected to yourself between sessions.
