Do you feel like you are constantly running on empty, taking care of everyone else while your own needs sit at the bottom of the list? If you are tired of just "getting through the day" and feeling disconnected from yourself, I'm here to help. I offer a relaxed, grounded space where you don't have to have it all together. Here, you can finally take a breath, drop the act, and talk honestly about what’s weighing you down. My approach isn't just about talking in circles; it's about helping you feel better in your day-to-day life. We will look at the bigger picture and the patterns holding you back, but we will also focus heavily on what you need right now. Along with practical coping strategies, I use gentle body-based (somatic) practices. This means we won't just address the racing thoughts in your mind, we will actually work on releasing the physical tension and exhaustion sitting in your body. Whether you are drowning in burnout, navigating a heavy loss, or simply trying to figure out who you are in this current chapter of your life, I will meet you exactly where you are. There is no judgment here, just a steady, supportive partner to help you find your footing again. Together, we’ll do the work to make your life feel lighter, clearer, and truly yours.

Getting to know Lisa Priel

What should a new client know about working with you?

You won’t find a blank stare or a silent observer here. I’m right in the passenger seat with you, helping you make sense of the chaos and offering practical tools whenever they are useful. If I notice a pattern keeping you stuck, I’m going to gently call it out. If something isn't clear, I’ll ask about it. And if we hit a wall, we will figure it out together. I believe therapy works best when it’s a true partnership. Healing doesn't just happen during our 50 minutes together, so I focus heavily on "small wins" you can take with you. Depending on what you need that week, I might send you off with a quick grounding practice, a breathing exercise for when anxiety spikes, or a simple action step to try. My goal is for you to feel supported and capable on a Tuesday afternoon, not just when you are sitting on my couch. To help you get there, I pull from a few different toolkits. We will look at your past and the patterns that shaped you, but we will also focus on active, solution-focused skills to help you handle the present. Above all, I aim to create a space that feels steady, safe, and genuinely supportive: a place where you can finally let your guard down.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, my main priority is to lower the pressure and help you just settle in. You don’t need to have a perfect summary of your life ready to go. We’ll simply talk about what has been feeling the heaviest lately and what you hope will feel different in your life. I'll ask thoughtful, clarifying questions to help us get a clear picture of what's going on and map out a purposeful direction for our work. Ongoing sessions are a collaborative space to do the real work. We will check in on how you are moving through your week, but we quickly dive beneath the surface to address the root causes of what is holding you back. Whether we are untangling a complex relationship pattern, processing grief, or addressing the physical toll of burnout, our sessions are guided and purposeful. We look at your past to make sense of your present, always with the goal of helping you feel more regulated and aligned right now. My goal is for you to leave every single session feeling deeply heard, understood, and a little lighter than when you walked in. You’ll leave with a clear sense of the progress we are making and a tangible tool or new perspective to help you stay connected to yourself until I see you again.
