Hi There. My name is Lisa Walton, LCSW. I am licensed in Missouri, Florida, and Tennessee to provide clinical therapy and counseling services. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Barry University. I have over 15 years of clinical counseling experience and 20 years of working with mostly at-risk clients in social services. I have worked with a diverse population of adults, adolescents, and children in various settings, including psychiatric facilities, group homes, state penitentiary schools, in-home, and on military installations. I provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy, as well as facilitate psycho-education groups on coping with mental health symptoms. My experience includes working with special populations such as at-risk youth, child abuse victims and offenders, domestic violence victims and offenders, delinquent youth, criminal offenders, psychiatric patients, LGBTQ individuals, and active-duty military members. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, empathic, and supportive, aiming to empower clients to overcome the specific challenges and obstacles in their lives. I typically use narrative, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, and motivational interviewing techniques, depending on clinical assessment, client needs, and specific issues. I maintain the highest levels of professional standards and ethics in all client encounters. I am flexible with scheduling, understanding that life can be complicated. I look forward to establishing a warm, empathic, supportive, and professional relationship with all of my clients.
