Psychotherapist
107 SW Market St, Ste D, Lee's Summit, MO
I’m a clinician with several years of experience working at an inner-city hospital and currently enjoy practicing in a more rural setting. My background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Missouri - Lee’s Summit and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Kansas. This education, combined with my clinical experience, has enabled me to work alongside individuals addressing general life concerns as well as those diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. I treat a wide range of issues, including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, motivational struggles and burnout, mood swings, and psychotic disorders. I approach treatment from a holistic perspective, believing that diet, exercise, sleep, and faith all intersect to impact well-being. My counseling style is supportive, encouraging, interactive, and educational. I believe all individuals deserve respect and compassion, and I reject criticism as a tool in therapy. I achieve successful outcomes through collaboration and the use of evidence-based treatment techniques. You can expect a professional yet laid-back approach to counseling. You’ll walk away feeling heard, hopeful, and aware of your options. My goal is to meet you where you are, collaborate to establish goals, and work alongside you so you can live a more fulfilled and empowered life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a professional, yet laid back approach to counseling. You'll walk away feeling heard, having hope and knowing you have options. My goal is to meet you where you are, collaborate to establish goals and work alongside you so that you can have a more fulfilled and empowered life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First we'll chat a bit to determine if I'll be a good fit and able to help you obtain what you want from therapy. If we determine we're a good fit to work together we'll schedule an intake session where I'll gather additional information on what you want out of therapy and how I'll be able to go about helping you. The second session we'll establish a treatment plan - that'll hold me accountable to helping you obtain your goals. A strong treatment plan will consist of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Sensitive). I'll educate you on any diagnosis given and then we'll start working to help you achieve your goals.
