Lori Collins, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MO
Hi there, my name is Lori Collins, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas. I'm a therapist with several years of experience working at an inner-city hospital in both outpatient and inpatient capacities. After several years of inner-city work, I began practicing in rural areas, where life can be less hectic. My approach to therapy uses a Person In Environment (PIE) perspective, where I explore how your environment might be impacting who you are and what you do. My approach I approach treatment from a holistic perspective and believe diet, exercise, sleep, and faith all intersect. My experience has enabled me to work alongside individuals wanting to address everyday life concerns as well as those diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. My focus I treat a wide range of concerns including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, motivational challenges and burnout, mood swings, and psychotic disorders. I am also comfortable helping first responders and veterans address trauma. My communication style My counseling style is supportive, encouraging, interactive, and educational. I believe all individuals are worthy of respect and compassion. I believe people are doing the best they can with what they have, and it is wrong to criticize others. I experience successful outcomes through the use of evidence-based research. It requires courage to seek change and even consider talking with a counselor. I'm ready to help support, encourage, and work with you so you get the tools you need to live a more fulfilled and empowered life. My journey to mental healthcare I am driven to see other people succeed and experience successful outcomes through evidence-based research. My goals for you I utilize a collaborative and person-centered approach to counseling and treatment planning.
