“Lourdes is very knowledgeable. Her clinical approach to therapy, as well as the faith-centered aspect of her care, are two of the highlights of my time with her. A research-based approach to CBT is a rare jewel to find and Lourdes provides that during our sessions. I have felt safe and heard during our time together. She makes sure that progress is being made while also allowing for the process of therapy to take its course. ”

Getting to know Lourdes Berlanga

Please note that I am unable to prescribe medications but can refer you to a psychiatrist if needed. I believe that each client is a unique individual capable of growth, healing, and change by learning new techniques to enhance their health and well-being across biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. Personal growth is supported by setting and working toward goals, assessing and building strengths in these areas, and developing skills and resources to manage life's challenges. As a professional, I collaborate with my clients in a safe and open environment to identify goals and work toward positive resolutions. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling from Liberty University. My therapeutic approach integrates Trauma-Focused CBT, solution-focused therapy, play therapy, talk therapy, person-centered methods, and motivational techniques to help individuals, couples, and families achieve greater balance and satisfaction in life. I work with adults, couples, and elders who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, life transitions (including pre-marital), adjustment disorders, grief and loss, stress, self-esteem issues, and relationship conflicts.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach integrates Trauma-Focused - CBT; Solution-focused, play therapy, talk therapy, person-centered, motivational techniques to help individuals, couples, and families achieve more balance and satisfaction in life. I work with adults, couples, adolescents, children, and elders who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, life transitions (pre-marital), adjustment disorders, grief and loss, stress, self-esteem, and relationship conflicts.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It is imperative to talk with the clinician as soon as you make an appointment. That way the clinician will verify insurance, set up all necessary forms and confirm the appointment. If the previous process is not done there is no way to complete and appointment. Then, this clinician will do a biopsychosocial evaluation on the first appointment and provide a diagnosis. Next, the clinician and client will develop a treatment plan on the second appointment. Finally, the clinician will provide therapy services based on a treatment plan on the third and consequent appointments. In therapy sessions, the clinician will select techniques to help the client reach the client's goals.

A very professional person, inspires confidence quickly, attentive, listens carefully and diligently seeks resources to help you. Unfortunately I had to change my health insurance and the company she work with does not use that insurance. Strongly recommend to anyone!!!!!
Pleasure to work with this therapist.
I really enjoy our appointments. I think that my time with Mrs. Berlanga is very productive as she listens and creates a space for me to be able to reflect on my behaviors. I look forward to each week knowing I am getting valuable help.
My experience was a positive one! I was listened to and I was given a space to speak about what I am wishing to address. I am excited to see what treatment plan I will receive.
