Getting to know Lucy Williams

Hi. My name is Lucy. Does there seem to be a challenge everywhere you look? Are you struggling with stressors at work, at home, or within your extended relationships? Are you dealing with feelings of overwhelm or having intrusive, worrying thoughts? Do you find it challenging to simply be kind to yourself? Regardless of your situation, I am so glad you are taking the steps to find support, and I hope that, together, we can discover what's not working and get you back to balance. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Norfolk State University and more than 20 years of experience working with clients in various areas. These include crisis intervention, hospitalization and grief counseling, child protective services, foster care, parent coaching, mental health support, and intensive in-home therapeutic services. I believe that all individuals possess an innate desire for well-balanced emotional and mental health. I enjoy helping people from all walks of life manage relationships, explore personal challenges, and turn their inner critic into a compassionate and empowering force in their lives. Reaching out for help can be overwhelming, and you have taken the first step by seeking a therapist. My goal is to provide a safe space for healing and growth. In our sessions, you can be assured that you will be met with compassion and evidence-based techniques to overcome the obstacles holding you back.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will provide a safe space where you can speak freely without fear of judgment, reprimand, or ridicule. During the first session, you will be given the opportunity to share your story. I look forward to getting to know you, to understand what things are important to you, and what things you feel will contribute to your growth and wellness. Together we will develop preliminary goals for therapy, creating a plan that centers around YOUR wants and needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I really feel like she’s learning me and takes the time to help me calm through whatever I’m feeling that day. It’s helpful because sometimes I don’t feel the same day-to-day.
It is difficult to select only two things that stand out in her therapy style. She is solution-oriented, but still warm and non-judgemental. She is so easy to talk to and has made a significant difference in my life. I'm very thankful I found her.
