Lynn Panepinto Calderón, LCSW - C

Psychotherapist
MD
Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile. I’m originally from Philadelphia and now based in Baltimore. I went to graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied Social Work and Latin American Studies. I have worked in the social services field for over 15 years and have been a licensed social worker and practicing therapist for 8 years. Most of my experience has consisted of working with survivors of violence (family, intimate partner, and/or sexual violence) as well as with Spanish-speaking immigrants. I enjoy working with caregivers and their children and with mixed status immigrant families. Although I am not Hispanic/Latine, I lived in Peru for about 5 years and speak Spanish fluently, so I am comfortable providing therapy in Spanish. At this time, I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults (ages 16+) who are managing anxiety or undergoing life changes. As a community organizer myself, I also enjoy supporting fellow organizers who are experiencing burnout. I typically offer short-term (10-15 sessions) with a solution-focused approach. Additionally, I provide mental health evaluations in English and Spanish for immigrant clients who are looking to support their legal cases (asylum, U-Visa, VAWA, and extreme hardship waivers). Because these are completely separate from therapy sessions, please schedule a consultation call only so that we can discuss this option.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect to feel like they have someone who is truly invested in their well-being. I like to invite clients to try mindfulness or self-compassion exercises both in and out of sessions to increase their awareness and help them build new skills. I try to offer developmentally appropriate resources and information that can help clients develop insight into what is happening in their brains and bodies. With child and family work, I focus on helping us create a sense of safety in order to strengthen relationships and open up communication channels. Previous clients have shared that they appreciated my ability to help them slow down and learn more about the mind-body connection. Clients tend to come away from sessions feeling supported and less alone.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
