Psychotherapist
8075 W 3rd St, Ste 306, Los Angeles, CA
We enter this world searching for safety, comfort, care, and meaning. This urge never leaves us and is a primary focus of therapy with me. I help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and external events in their lives in service to a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. Through this understanding and learning practical coping skills, clients can experience relief from distress. I specialize in (but am not limited to) sexual abuse, trauma, masculinity, and post-partum depression. These specialties originate both from training in forensic psychology with a focus on victim experience and from my own personal experiences with post-partum depression as a first-time mother. I hold a PhD in Psychology from Middlesex University London.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients should know that I am collaborative and flexible, patient, and genuinely curious about people and what causes them to seek therapy. I want to know what makes you who you truly are, and how you can foster more ease in life in spite of whatever circumstances surround you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy, and define some concrete goals (e.g. I want to stop racing thoughts keeping me awake at night). With trauma work, the pace tends to be whatever you set, and sensitivity to your emotional responses is key in safely exploring your life, and your experiences. The goal is to make more space in your mind to consider your life apart from negative experiences.
