Macy Grim, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
I’m a mom, professor, and therapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and parents. Through play and adventure therapy, I help children express emotions in ways that feel natural to them, while also supporting parents in building strong, loving connections with their kids. My goal is to create a safe space for growth, healing, and lasting change. My approach I believe in meeting every child exactly where they are. By using curiosity, empathy, and developmentally appropriate approaches, I help children and teens explore their feelings in ways that feel safe and manageable. I also work closely with parents, empowering families to create healthy communication patterns and stronger bonds at home. Therapy with me is collaborative; I view parents as partners in their child’s healing process. My focus I work primarily with children, teens, and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and relationship issues. Many of the kids I see feel worn out from trying to “fit in” or from navigating the pressures of school and friendships. My role is to help them discover healthier ways to cope, express themselves, and develop confidence. I also work with parents who want to better understand and support their children, creating a strong foundation for connection and growth within the family. My communication style I bring warmth, patience, and honesty into every session. I try to create an environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves and parents feel supported, not judged. I use a balance of compassion and directness, gentle enough to help kids open up, but structured enough to guide families toward progress. My goal is for everyone I work with to feel heard, respected, and encouraged throughout the process. My journey to mental healthcare My therapy journey has been shaped by both my personal and professional life.
