“I feel very comfortable with Maggie. I feel like she genuinely listens to me and cares about my wellbeing (which I feel is hard to find in the mental health field these days). Talking with her has been and is an absolute pleasure. I am excited for the work we have ahead.”

Getting to know Maggie Wise

I am originally from Northern Virginia but have lived in the Tidewater area for 25 years. I completed my undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University with a BS in Psychology. I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Southern California. I am dually licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. I have approximately twenty years of social work experience in various avenues. I specialize in trauma, crisis management, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. I know there is not one approach for everyone, so I work with my patients to find a treatment modality that they are comfortable with. I fully believe that everyone can achieve the quality of life they desire; it is my passion and commitment to help them achieve that.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
