Hi there, I'm Manisha! My name is Manisha Chulani, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #101388). I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, East Bay. As a woman from a minority background, my therapy style is gentle, compassionate, and culturally informed. My aim is to foster a sense of safety and trust that allows you to grow into the person you are. My approach I believe my clients know themselves best, and my role is to help them see their true essence. I use various modalities, including a psychoanalytic perspective, and provide skills training such as DBT to empower clients. My focus I enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan—children, adolescents, young adults, and adults—who seek insight and want tools to reduce distress and create the life they envision. My communication style Working with me feels like being with someone who does not judge and accepts you unconditionally, so you can feel safe to be your authentic self. My journey to therapy Since middle school, I have been curious about how others think and how I think. My life experiences have shaped who I am, and I am grateful for the guides, counselors, and healers who helped me. I want to share that healing with others and can empathize based on my own experiences. My goals for you I work collaboratively with clients to identify and support their personal goals. My first session with you Our first session will be an intake to get to know each other, discuss confidentiality and session expectations, and explore what brings you to counseling at this time.
