Getting to know Marc Moawad
Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. I have been providing psychotherapy for over 17 years, helping adults navigate individual difficulties, career stress, family concerns, friendship issues, and academic distress. I specialize in Trauma, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, and Adjustment Disorders, among many other concerns.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Initially, we will use psychodynamic treatments, to better understand the who, what, when, where, and why, that brings into you to treatment. This includes our presenting concerns, which are those that made you desire therapy, as well as your life, from birth to present. At this stage, we will create a safe environment, built on trust and respect.
As we continue therapy, we will include cognitive behavioral therapy approaches, that will allow us to have more takeaways, that guide you to your overall treatment success.
With my treatment approach, we move as slow or as fast as you like. Some clients want immediate symptom relief, and some are wanting a long term therapeutic connection. This all depends on you.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Great therapist to work out issues with surrounding family/children dynamics. Has really great insight both as a therapist and as a parent himself. I wish we were allowed to add to add more than two therapy styles for him. Besides Direct and Authentic, I'd add Warm and Empowering/Challenging too. I highly recommend.

Marc is also intelligent, direct, challenging, open minded, humorous, and authentic. My experience in therapy has been comfortable and effective in helping me get through and understand current and past issues. He's a great listener and it's been nice to feel comfortable and be able to share my feelings in a safe space.
