My approach I believe in beginning a therapeutic relationship with building rapport. This is important so that the therapist-client relationship feels authentic, comfortable and safe. For example, you wouldn't take your car to a mechanic you don't trust or eat food from a restaurant you don't like. The same is true in a therapeutic relationship. Once rapport has been established, I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. This approach is hands-on and gives you tools to feel more in control of your emotions and behaviors. Based on your unique needs, I may adapt my approach to include practices like mindfulness and meditation. Your goals and progress are my primary focus.
