Margaret Hunter, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I believe my education, training, and work experience are important aspects of who I am as a therapist; however, my own life experience informs my work and helps me in the process of forming meaningful and trusting therapeutic relationships. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Art Therapist, and Certified Eating Disorder Creative Arts Therapist. I provide services to individuals, couples, families, and groups in the Central Valley. As an LMFT, I have worked with at-risk youth and their families, teens and families facing challenges associated with eating disorders, men and women exploring body image concerns, college students at all ages and stages of life, couples, and people of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. My training as an art therapist opened doors to work in a variety of settings: inpatient rehabilitation therapy, cancer support, functional medicine, and Men Healing (Weekends of Recovery). I’m grateful for every opportunity I have had to work with very diverse populations. Each person’s journey is personal and unique; however, life experiences, situations, and relationships are more relatable than many people imagine. I look forward to meeting and working with each individual, and I feel honored to spend some time together on the life journey.
