Getting to know Margarita Lekhtsikava

I earned a BA in Psychology from UCI and a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU. My specialties include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, complex PTSD, substance use, anger management, work and career issues, life transitions, and stress management. My therapeutic approach is strength-based and client-centered. I value and integrate a variety of theories and interventions to fit each client’s needs and goals, some of the modalities being CBT, EFT, DBT, and Narrative. I am trained and experienced in providing EMDR. Ultimately, as a therapist, I believe that every person has the capacity for personal growth and the capacity to increase life satisfaction. My goal is to empower and support my clients through the therapeutic process to help them meet their needs and goals. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment that allows space for self-expression and self-discovery, the opportunity to identify and challenge difficult thoughts and emotions and create new ways to cope with stressors effectively. In my free time, I enjoy being outside in Cali sunshine, discovering new foodie destinations, and recharging with a good book and my 15-year-old cat on my lap.
