Getting to know Maria Baldasseroni

Hi there, I'm Maria! Hello, my name is Maria Baldasseroni. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I see psychotherapy as a vital journey for self-discovery and empowerment. I believe the first step to creating a healthy environment for relationships starts with looking within and creating a safe space for self-compassion and self-love. My approach My therapy approach is humanistic and relational. I believe healing happens in the space between client and therapist. My multicultural background informs my approach, which is rooted in mindfulness, compassion, and empathy. I draw from Client-Centered, DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic, Jungian, Gestalt, and Existentialist theories. My focus I work mostly with adults experiencing mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. I support those facing life transitions or unresolved trauma and grief. I am trained in EMDR and use it for trauma-related conditions. My communication style I am warm and personable, valuing direct and sincere communication from my collective culture. My practice blends wisdom with a touch of humor. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been curious about human behavior and what motivates people. I have faced many obstacles and internal and external battles to grow into who I am today. I believe therapy is one of the most important journeys because knowing yourself helps you understand others.
