Hi there, I'm Maria! Welcome to my profile. I am a first generation Latina American who holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I have been working in the behavioral health field since 2014 and am trained in a number of specialties, including Seeking Safety, Crisis-Oriented Recovery Services (CORS), Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and LGBTQIA addiction treatment. During my career, I have served in various roles, such as Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, Lead Therapist, Executive Clinical Liaison, Therapist Mentor, BHT Supervisor, and Referral Coordinator. I started working in this industry as a means of paying it forward. As an at-risk youth with a trauma history, I was given the opportunity to improve my life through therapy and discovered how to take back my power through choice and perspective. I find it rewarding to help others see how the power of choice could change the direction of where we are heading and how we could pivot from repeating vicious cycles in our lives. I am here to learn about you and partner in developing a path to well-being. I am a bilingual Spanish speaker, and in my free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, and listening to audible books.
