Getting to know Maria Carmichael

Life has a way of making you feel out of control, anxious, depressed, and/or overwhelmed due to unavoidable experiences. Therapy can help you process what is happening, enabling you to make decisions, set goals, and create changes that benefit you and your needs. It is a place to share intimate details in a confidential and nonjudgmental environment as we work together to explore ideas, needs, stressors, and fears, all while identifying your strengths to help manage what life has thrown your way. I enjoy getting to know my clients’ stories and building on their strengths. Over the 20-plus years since becoming a social worker, I have handled a variety of situations, including transitions, relational problems, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, risk-taking, self-esteem, and communication challenges. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.
