My approach
The most important thing to me is creating an alliance where my clients feel heard and understood with empathy. I draw from a range of theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Emotional Freedom Technique. My approach is client-centered and tailored to what works best for each individual.
My focus
I typically work with adult clients of all ages dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, ADHD, or health challenges. I help clients discover meaningful tools and coping strategies that support them now and in the future. I also often assist clients who need help with communication in areas like work or relationships, and I'm comfortable providing that support as well.
My communication style
I communicate clearly and create a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing what troubles them most. Our sessions are conversational, but you are the expert on you! I may guide you through exercises during sessions because we learn best by doing. It will feel like we're working together, and my hope is that you'll look forward to our time together.
My journey to mental healthcare
When I was a client, a therapist once said to me, ?You get this! You should do this work!? I took that suggestion seriously, and here I am. I came to this career later in life, bringing with me a wealth of life experience.
